Kelly in Africa
Hey Everyone!
Things here have been going great. God has really been saying a lot to me about me life, and is giving me a lot of things to think about. This is really the biggest growing experience for me.
Every day, we spend an hour at Beautiful Kidz. The preschoolers spend the entire day there, and the others only spend an hour after school working on their homework. I have been working in the homework class this entire time, and I love it! When we get there, they all want to hug us, and go crazy over us. Because none of them have paper of their own, we have to give then paper. 99% of the time, the kids use the paper to make the teachers cards. So now I have a mountain of cards in my room. Then, when we are done at the center, when we walk out, we always have about 3 or more children hanging on us.
On base, everything has been good. We have had a lot of people getting sick, and one girl tore tendons in her foot.
This week, we have been talking about the Father’s heart of God. Most of the people don’t have a good relationship with with their fathers, let alone know who they are. So it is really hard for a lot of people to relate to God as a father figure. Last week, the most conservative person in the team received the gift of tongues. She was so freaked out by it, to the point that she couldn't talk to anyone for a few hours.
As far as myself, I am doing really well. Right now, I really need prayer to be patient with every one around me. I find myself wanting to snap at half the people here. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. Love you all!
